When to Upgrade
How Do You Know She's Ready?
There is no magic age when a player suddenly needs a more
expensive stick.
We start thinking about an upgrade when she has been playing
consistently for a few seasons, knows she wants to continue,
and is developing stronger catching, cradling, passing, and
shooting skills.
She may also be starting to develop preferences based on her role
on the field—attack, midfield, defense, or taking draws.
For many girls, this transition happens somewhere around middle
school, but development and commitment matter much more than grade.
